Cavity!!

On Monday, we took Ava to the dentist because we knew she had a cavity in one of her teeth. (Our first clue was when part of her tooth came out in a tootsie roll she was eating!) On Tuesday we went back and she had a partial root canal and got a crown!
Dr. Tim decided that Ava would do best with "the procedure" under conscious sedation. She had to drink some really nasty medicine, and that was a little rough, but she got it down. After about 1/2 hour, the medicine had totally kicked in, and Ava was sooo relaxed, she even went willingly to the mean nurse that had made her drink the medicine to go have the work done. When she was done, she was happy, and didn't remember anything.
When we were home, she was laying on the couch and really feeling the effects of the medicine. She kept pointing at the air and saying "Oh look Mom, wow, just look at it." What it was, I do not know. It was kind of funny, but mostly sad!
She slept for most of the day and seemed to feel pretty good. She asked me once, "did I freak out Mom? I think I freaked out." Poor little thing!
We gave her a little unicorn toy to cheer her up. She is sooo into unicorns lately. She was happy, but told me that now she "just needs an asparagus too." When she says asparagus, she actually means pegasus (horse with wings). (she actually also says this when she is not totally high!)
That night, she was anxious to brush her teeth before bed and said she wanted "to get the sugar bugs off her teeth so she would never have to do that again, because this was her worst day ever!"
She is proud of her silver crown and calls it her pretty princess tooth! She was so brave, and I am so proud of my Ava bug!

Man, the dentist totally sucks! She is so brave! Savannah had some teeth pulled for orthodontic reasons once and the effects of the gas were hilarious! She was crawling around on all fours like a dog!
