Author & Artist

Recently, Ava has been writing alot. She will write stories, letters and signs for her room. She is starting to figure out how to sound words out and the things she comes up with are so cute. It is so interesting to read her interpretation of what words sound like.
I took a picture of the sign that she made for her door today. It says:
1st line-Do not go in my room (there is a picture of her door instead of the word room because she said she couldn't figure out the word room).
2nd line-only if there is
3rd line-a emergency. Everytime that Ava has her crayons or markers out, Dillon wants to be coloring too. If we are not careful, he will draw on anything and everything! (Just look at our kitchen table, Ava's dresser or his cousin Sam's bed, nightstand & carpet!) This is one of his masterpieces!
Sunday, I put Dillon in his highchair in the kitchen to color with Ava and I went into the living room for a few minutes. This is what his arms looked like when I came back!
This is Dilly & Ava before church on Sunday.

Maegan

Today is my sister Maegan's birthday. Meg is just 2 years older than me and we have always been close. I have missed her so much these last few years that I have been in Arizona.
I have so many great memories of Meg. One of my definite favorites was the day we could not stop laughing in creepy Mr. Burnah's french class at Provo High. (remember ratatouille Meg?) We got in so much trouble, and that made us laugh even more! I don't know if Maegan ever knew how much I appreciated that she let me hang out with her in High School and she was never too cool to talk to me or include me.
It makes me laugh now, but I remember how mad I was the day that I found one of my journals, and my super-speller-sister-Maegan had corrected the spelling & punctuation errors in red pen!
I think I shared a room with Meg my whole entire life - she put up with my cabbage patch dolls & barbies and I put up with her Michael Jackson & Bruce Springsteen posters.
Maegan is one of the most thoughtful people I have ever known. She would do anything for anyone, and she is always giving. Over the years, she has volunteered for different crisis centers for women & children. She is really smart & organized, and she is super funny. She has raised two awesome boys, Zach & Chase. Maegan has always been such a great sister, but she has always also been one of my best friends!

I love you Meg! Happy Birthday!

Brian

Cheese, wine, fine art, Brian.... Some things just get better with age.
It was Brian's 37th birthday earlier this month and I just wanted to tell him how much I love him!
I love him because he loves me so much, no matter what, and he never lets me forget it!
Brian is such a good Dad - he adores his kids more than anything! I love that he will talk to his kids on the phone in his Daddy-voice in front of his whole crew when he is on a trip. He makes up the best stories for Ava each night, and he can make Dilly laugh harder than anyone.
He takes such good care of our family - he works so hard to provide for us & he makes a lot of sacrifices for us.
He has such a passion for flying, and he is really, really good at it.
He is so funny - he makes me laugh all the time, (often at inappropriate times!)
My favorite thing to do is to just be with him! I think he is so handsome, he still gives me butterflies after all these years!

I love, Love, LOVE you! Happy Birthday Bri Bri!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

This week Ava's kindergarten class celebrated Dr.Seuss' birthday. They read Dr. Suess books each day and they ate green eggs & ham! Ava's teacher Ms. Jacobson, sent home a cute little poem that told them certain clothing items to wear each day of the week. I took a picture of Ava each day - every time I was about to take her picture, Dillon would go stand beside her, ready to have his picture taken too - so I am posting the pictures with Dilly too!

Wear red, white and black. The Cat is back!

The Grinch is on the scene - wear green!
Like the silly fox, wear your silly socks!

Horton felt kindly toward a spot. For Horton, wear your polka dots!

Bid the cat adieu, any crazy hat will do!
